How to Resolve Dell Laser Printers Paper Jams?

Printers make our job easier; reduces human efforts, but if I say ‘tell me an annoying situation you face, while using printers?’ I’m sure many of you’d say, ‘paper jamming’; in fact, it’s the most unpleasant situation people often face with printers. But few of us, knows the actual reasons “why do we face this problem and how to resolve these jams?”

If your printer has misfed the paper, you need not get frustrated, take it easy, and follow the below steps.

  • Unplug the printer: First of all, unplug the power cable from the socket. Make sure there is no other power supply attached to your printer; remove all the cables. (It’s necessary; a safety from electric shock.)

  • Open the printer: Open its front panel/ cover carefully. Check the path for paper jamming or misfeed. When the paper appears as crumpled or wadded up, remove it all. (Try to pull it slowly, don’t force, if you do, your paper could separate into pieces and get stuck.)

  • Refer the manual: If you’re having issues to get the paper out; refer the guidelines and diagrams (usually located on the inside cover for key areas) or manual/ reference book (; usually comes with the printers).

  • Close the front/ cover panel: Reinsert the paper, adjust the guides to A4 (you can also align the paper guides as per your need. For A3 size sheets, align guides to A3).

  • Plug the printer into the power socket

  • Turn the printer back on

  • Wait for the pending job: See if the pending job is done or not (sometimes manual printers don't delete their pending/ undone job, in that case, you’ve to wait for a minute to check the last printing response), if the last job has been deleted or completed, you can resend or send a new job.

So that’s how you can resolve laser printer paper jamming situations, (without any frustrations) in a very effective way.
